Hot springs hit different. They’re not a pool, not a party, and definitely not the place to blast your playlist. If you wanna blend in and not be that person, here’s what you need to know before stepping into the steam.
1. Rinse First, Always
This isn’t optional. You gotta shower before getting in full rinse, not just a splash. Hair, feet, everything. It keeps the water clean and everyone chill. People can tell if you skipped it. Don’t make it weird.
2. Towels Stay Dry
Your towel is for drying off, not soaking with you. Put it on your head if you want or just leave it on the side. But if it ends up floating in the pool, that’s a no.
3. Respect the Bubble
Most people aren’t here to chat. If you make eye contact, a quick nod is fine, but don’t try to start a convo unless someone clearly wants to talk. Keep some space and read the room.
4. Keep the Volume Down
Voices carry in steamy spaces, so talk low if you gotta say something. And don’t play music or videos on your phone. Everyone’s trying to relax, not hear your group chat or TikTok feed.
5. Ask Before You Snap
If you’re taking photos, make sure you’re not near anyone else and definitely ask if someone might end up in your shot. This isn’t a photo shoot unless you’re alone. Be cool about it.
6. Dress for the Vibe
Some springs are super chill, even a little traditional. That barely-there bikini might not be the best call. Go for something with more coverage. You’ll still look great and you’ll fit the setting.
7. Leave It Better Than You Found It
Dry off before you walk inside, wipe up any water you drip, and don’t leave your stuff all over the place. The goal is to disappear without leaving a trace like a courteous ghost with good skin.
